Meet Shannon Toll

As an eleven year old, Shannon began lessons at White Dog Farm, along with her younger sister and her mother.

When she turned 16, she began working at WDF and eagerly pursued advancement in her horsemanship education.  From horse care and management, she has become one of the favorite instructors during this past year.  The kids and the parents love her. . She shares her knowledge of horses with her students and tells them, “Our horses are our best teachers.”  She urges students to listen to their horses.  Her riding skills continue to grow by receiving regular lessons and attending continuing education clinics that stress a balanced seat and being a partner with your horse.

Shannon’s dream came true in 2001 when she purchased her first horse, Kato.  He is “Shannon’s Love” and is also a valuable asset to WDF.  Kato is one of our favorite school horses and Shannon and Kato grow in their riding skills daily.

Nearly 3 years ago Shannon was able to bring her love for horses and kids together by volunteering at Creative Therapy and working with Hippotherapy and Therapeutic riding. She has always been pulled toward helping the Handicapped but did not want to be in a classroom. Now she has found a way to bring her passions together.

Shannon is now 21 and a sophomore at Gainesville, College. Her goal is to receive a degree in Early Child Development.
